He’ll Stand

He’ll Stand

The following words by Paul the Apostle make for tangible peace between sincerely conscientious Christians who differ in convictions: “Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4).

A true believer will ultimately stand justified before God, regardless of differences in those matters about which God has chosen to give no definitive command. In such areas we have liberty, and my conscience must not bind the other’s freedom.

HE’LL STAND
Romans 14:4 “To his own master he stands or falls”

_________

He’ll stand
I shouldn’t quibble,
For a servant
If he stands
Or if he falls
Stands or falls to Another
To whom he owes all things

He’ll stand
Even if I differ
In my scruples or my ways
If he’s loved by Another
For Another makes it so

Let’s have peace
With each other
For every servant is my brother
If he’s a servant of the Other
Before Whom we’ll each stand
